Gordon Stennett, Majestic Six Quail on natural driftwood branch and finished base, approximately 21 inches high by 24 inches wide, and 10 inches deep. Quail are of redwood burl, holly and walnut, the base is myrtle burl and redwood burl.
Gordon started carving as a hobby in 1975. His father had long admired carvings from another artist who lived in the area. He was always interested in whatever his father did, so Gordon started working on birds too. Their hobby snowballed into a profession and Gordon's shorebirds and waterfowl sculptures are displayed over the world, and his work has been on display at the Smithsonian.
Each piece is an original; no two pieces will ever look alike.
